ROB SIMPSON RETAINS HIS TITLE WITH NEW SPEED RECORD OF 27.6 KNOTS
During what proved to be a very windy weekend, the speed record at BBSC was broken three times in one afternoon. It now stands at an impressive 27.6 knots,
After putting in some superb runs, Andy Freeman narrowly managed to break the previous record with one which registered 26.4 knots. Then, just to make sure, he improved upon that still further by setting a record of 26.82 knots. It was an excellent display of sailing but, not to be outdone, the previous record holder, Rob Simpson, managed to regain his title with a run which registered 27.6 knots - using a sail he made himself!!!
